Callicoon Fine Arts is pleased to present FRAME BY FRAME a group exhibition comprised of works by six artists: Etel Adnan, Cy Gavin, Kahlil Irving, Silvia Kolbowski, Jumana Manna, and Ulrike Müller; and the poet Samiya Bashir who will be reading from her new book, Field Theories, just released by Nightboat Books, starting at 7pm on Thursday May 25th.
The title of the exhibition is an excerpt from an entry in The Poets’ Encyclopedia published in 1979. In this entry the collective General Idea offers a loopy definition of “general idea”.
