The Quartz Collective, in collaboration with Greatorex Street and as part of the Tellus Triannual, presents a new multidisciplinary installation combining animation, painting, and live performance to create an immersive gallery environment.
About
This multidisciplinary installation brings together digital animation, painting, sound and live performance to create an immersive environment within the gallery. At its centre, an installation made from PVC and recycled bag strips forms a semi-transparent enclosure, where two projectors cast animation through the material and onto performers inside—merging live bodies with shifting digital imagery.
The work explores the physical and emotional limits of the body, focusing on the tension between space, control, and autonomy. Improvised movement and looping visuals generate a sense of repetition and unpredictability, intensified by a layered, evolving soundscape.
Paintings line the surrounding walls, each individually lit to create intimate encounters with the viewer. A documentary-style video woven into the space presents fragments of everyday life through spontaneous imagery, handwritten notes, and personal reflections. In the black room, digitally printed eyes envelop the viewer from all sides.
