FOUR GIANT LANDSCAPE PAINTINGS BY ANTHONY GARRATT AT LOCATIONS NORTH, SOUTH, EAST AND WEST ON THE ISLAND OF ANGLESEY, LEFT IN PLACE TO BECOME PART OF THE LANDSCAPE
About
At four unique island locations - north, south, east and west - the paintings bursting with energy will encourage people to explore the beauty and diversity of the Anglesey landscape, enjoy being outside and provide a creative and thought-provoking take on each side of the spectacular island. Castle, ocean, island, mountain and historical views will all be captured on canvas.
When complete, the giant works of art will be lifted onto bespoke rusted steel easels and left in the landscape, on or near the Anglesey Coastal Path in the very spot they were painted.
The creations will be left in the ‘outdoor gallery’ exposed to the elements until October 2015. Whilst they have been carefully designed to withstand the inevitable rigours of storms and weathering, as the paintings are immersed in the landscape they will intentionally transform in character as the light and weather changes around them.
Anthony will start creating the alfresco works on Anglesey on March 20 and it’s expected the four paintings will be complete by March 28. Each painting will remain outside for all to enjoy until October 2015.
