Shoshana Wayne Gallery is proud to present a selection of works by artists from our current exhibition Forms Fired, which includes over 45 small sculptures in clay by 18 creators. The artists are Ashwini Bhat, Zachary Leener, Jolie Ngo, Tal R, Yeesookyung, Anina Major and Anselm Reyle. Expanding an understanding of sculpture is one of the threads that links them all along with a commitment to clay as a raw material. From here they branch out in myriad directions—Ngo explores the opportunities of 3D printing technology, Bhat likes to find inspiration in the landscape while Major draws on her heritage as Bahamanian. Formal concerns, reinventing traditions, of figuration landscape, and abstraction, along with material use and handling are just some of the themes that make these artists unusual and special.
