About
Climate change solutions require both local and global perspectives. Follow The River, Follow The Thread brings together three photography projects from the African continent offering views on a changing world alongside ways of creating or contributing towards a more sustainable future: Etinosa Yvonne addresses water shortage through male water carriers in the north-eastern state of Adamawa in Nigeria, The Slum Studio emphasises clothes waste by reworking second hand clothes imported into Accra, Ghana by Western charities, and Dillon Marsh documents the vital habitat thriving on and around the Rwenzori Mountains, which is at threat due to glacial melting.
By following the sustainability work being done elsewhere, in seeing what sustainable ideas can be adapted and used, we can actively learn from others and value the role that photography plays in sharing this knowledge.
