Sheena McGrandles shares excerpts from her work-in-progress FLUSH.

Sheena McGrandles, our first Open Choreography International resident, shares excerpts from her work-in-progress FLUSH.   Experimenting with lighting, make-up, and slow, detailed movement, she will draw out a ‘queer aesthetic’ from historical images of the female body.

Sheena will spend time considering images of groups of women from the history of art and popular culture. She will attempt to animate these images with her technologized movement vocabulary to explore how their gestures might become charged with intimacy and eroticism.
