About

On 7 April Florence Peake brings her new performance MAKE to YSP, celebrating the working life at the Park, including the movement, cleaning and installation of sculptures. Peake will choreograph and direct performers through synchronised activity, to create a monolithic structure in Longside Gallery, which is immediately dismantled. Based in London, Peake trained as a dancer and now works across performance, drawing, painting and sculpture. Recent projects include Paper Portraits at the National Portrait Gallery, London, Duets for objects, The Place and Elsewhere Museum in North Carolina, USA. MAKE is the result of a 2010 collaboration between the Live Art Development Agency and YSP, conceived by artist Joshua Soafar. The performance will be preceded by impromptu happenings in the landscape during the day and two development workshops Materials for Making. Find out how you can take part in these workshops. MAKE is funded by Arts Council England Grants for the Arts and produced by YSP in partnership with Dance Art Foundation.
