Barnaby Barford, Rich Miller and Marijke Varrall-Jones, in dialogue with Sonia Solicari
About
As part of London Craft Week, join us for an in person talk on 12 May at Museum of the Home to launch the online bidding for this year's FiredUp4 Auction. Chaired by Director Sonia Solicari - artist and ceramicist Barnaby Barford, Maak Contemporary Ceramics Director Marijke Varrall-Jones and, Great Pottery Throwdown Judge Rich Miller will explore the benefits of creativity on mental wellbeing.
Barnaby Barford and Rich Miller are two of the makers whose generous contribution to the first FiredUp4 led to the successfully total raised being over £120,000. Their own dedication to clay and passion to help the next generation find their creative flow leads a fascinating discussion with industry professionals, Sonia and Marijke.
Exploring the benefits of creativity on mental wellbeing and the need to provide young people with a safe, inclusive and inspiring space, the panel will discuss FiredUp4’s mission to make clay accessible for young people up and down the country through the OnSide Youth Zones network.
Later this month, on Friday 27 May, FiredUp4 will auction over 50 works by leading ceramicists and artists to raise funds to support new studios for young members of the OnSide Youth Zones in some of the most disadvantaged communities in the country. Read all about FiredUp4 here.
