A provocative new exhibition of art from two of the UK’s most important emerging queer artists
About
A provocative new exhibition of art from two of the UK’s most important emerging queer artists opens 4 July at Velorose Gallery in London. The exhibition features photographic works from Colin Davis, and oil paintings by Orpheus. The work of both artists is deep-rooted in gay BDSM (bondage, discipline or domination, sadism or submission, and masochism) and so-called kink (kinky sexual) subcultures, and both draw inspiration from old master - predominantly Baroque - art, and both artists’ work is marked by great technical mastery of their respective media.
The show, which is taking place as part of Fetish Week London, is the first major show of both artists’ work to take place in London, and the first time ever that works by the two artists have been shown side by side.
