As part of Fabrica’s season exploring family we are watching this comedic and touching feature, Tucked. This new Brighton based classic celebrates the family that you find for yourself.
We meet Jackie who is a veteran drag queen with brash and bawdy act, as a shock diagnosis of terminal cancer forces Jackie to confront a difficult truth about Jackie’s estranged daughter. At the Brighton club Jackie forms an unlikely friendship with up-and-coming non-binary queen, Faith, and they find inspiration in one another.
“The heart of the film is in the odd parent-child relationship that develops between Jackie and Faith. Although Jackie has some hard-won worldly wisdom for the younger performer, Faith also encourages Jackie to reach out to his long-lost daughter.
