Isabelle Cornaro selects The Store (1983) by Frederick Wiseman to be shown in conjunction with her current exhibition at the South London Gallery. The film presents an in-depth portrait of employees and shoppers at the Neiman-Marcus store and corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas during the holiday season.
Although The Store stands as a single entity, Wiseman believes that it fits perfectly into his "institutional series", a collective look at places which he says are both common experiences in people's lives and are vital for the functioning of society.
Booking is essential. Book online here, or call 020 7703 6120.
