We are delighted to invite you to celebrate the launch of Somers Gallery. The programme includes a magnificent exhibition of engravings at Somers Gallery, a site specific installation on Chalton Street, and a display of limited editions in our tea shop ʻFlori Canto'.
About
Somers Gallery is presenting a unique selection of engravings from Fernando Sandoval workshop from Oaxaca, Mexico. This includes works by the iconic Mexican artists and activist Francisco Toledo (1945-2019), along with the work of over 20 exceptional artists working in Oaxaca Mexico. The work on show will be the work produced by the 26 artists in Oaxaca, Mexico, as well as Sandovalʼs prints.
Artists include; Francisco Toledo, Sergio Hernández, Fernando Sandoval, Dr Lakra, Toño Camuñas, Dan McCleary, Blanca Regina, Eddie Martínez, Emi Winter, Emiliano López, Fernando Olivera, Gesner Melchor, George Mead Moore, Gibran Mendoza, Guillermo Olguín, Indiana Christov, Javier Arjona, Alejandra España, María Nana, Nicolás Bolaños, Oso LC, Ramón Sanmiquel, Rigoberto Zárate, Apolo Cacho, Viviana Lorenzo, Yope Projects.
Sangfer workshop in Oaxaca has hosted international and local artists for three generations, producing important archives and samples of the graphic and visual art that distinguishes this capital, considered the printing art city. The workshop has become one of the pillars that promote high-quality engraving art prints.
