IV EDITION FERIA DE ARTE EN CASA FAC

In the same way that artistic manifestations are a universal drive, they have always demanded for a particular -private or shared- space. FAC comprehends these two spatial types by merging the private with the public for a day, for a few hours. FAC arises as a way to position artists in the place that corresponds to them and seems to have been forgotten: on the front line, in direct relation with the public. FAC claims a vindication of self-management, of decision-making, of the fair remuneration of personal effort. FAC claims, categorically and clearly, that who that makes art is working; that it is not a game but a struggle of the spirit: playful or intense.

The environment is neither institutional nor private, but domestic, expanded with the power of direct art intervention. The relaxed atmosphere as an invitation to talk, to participate. We pursue and we offer an environment without censorship, where the visual word, as an open syntax, welcomes all languages.

What are we preparing for this occasion? To begin with, we have invited some very special friends: artists and curators.

The following artists will show their works; Fueradcarta editions with José Luis López, Patricia Mateo, Montserrat Gómez Osuna, Alberto Olé, Le Frère, Inma Fierro, David Heras, Eva Esparza, Solimán López, Roberto López, Annita Klimt, Irene Cruz, Rebecca Uliczka, Movesinmover, Rosa Muñoz, Sebas Beyro, Yolanda Garcia, Raquel Lorente and Javier Rodriguez Lozano.

In addition, we will host the following independent projects:

Adonay Bermúdez, Eugenio Merino, Juan Francisco Casas and David Heras will present the project In money we trust. A project with itinerant vocation in which each artist intevenes on the same support, an American dollar  in which all the artistic manifestations can fit.

As a critique towards capitalist society and the art market, the project reinterprets conceptually the most recognizable capitalist icon, the dollar. The dollar bill thus conceived as raw support and material for art. It is immediately recognized and  loaded with symbolism, surely seducing as much as it is causes rejection.

Curated by GAPSCuratorial and Belinda Martín, OR. It is a project born between London, Madrid, Rome and Tehran and includes international curatorial and artistic voices. Taking each page as a space and opportunity for intervention, Or proposes from the empty, the lack, as a switch for action. Neither an artist book nor a conventional curated exhibition, Or is a horizontal space that incorporates the ephemeral and transient from multiple artistic voices. The project takes its name from the logical disjunction also known as alternation, and operates, precisely, enacting inclusive disjunctions.

Choose your taste. A project curated by Idoia Hormaza. Political actions reach a real and immediate dimension in the collective and intimate life of each individual. Artistic manifestations are not alien to these discourses and are inserted by force into functions, devices and evaluation criteria that connect the understanding of art only as a classification.

From the audiovisual and performative language, the artists in this project highlight and critique, from their own subjectivity, the attempts of reclusion of the artistic, social, political and economic that are sold to us as options. Expression, freedom and reality are not found in the choice of a flavor. Artists: Laura Flores, Florencia Kettner, Olga Isla, Ramón Quanta, SEPA, and Roberto Cárdenas.

No por amor al arte: A PROJECT BY PAC with the collaboration of Swinton & Grant. The project comes as recognition and support to the work of the artists. It was born as a social initiative to support the work of plastic artists, photographers, actors, writers, illustrators, designers ... Many of the art and culture professionals do not have the professional and economic support that should exist, as it happens in any other sector. And many times they have to work, as one would say, for the love of art.

We also have the Duckout, BEIS and SUBLIME magazines at the fair. And like other years, a lot of friends who support FAC; PAC PLATFORM OF CONTEMPORARY ART, ACHA, 100% MÉXICO, GRUPO SERINPSA-GREPPITEX.

Other activities include: round tables, lectures, enthusiastic and participative dialogues throughout the house, performances, video art, painting, sculpture, photography, illustrations ... Come and find it throughout the house!
