Fenòmens presents hybrid artworks whose axis is the body and intersections with other disciplines: dance, music, technologies and image. A phenomenon is an extraordinary event that defies explanation. From 16 to 19 November, 2016 in Barcelona.
About
Fenòmens is pleased to present the second edition of the festival from 16 to 19 November, 2016.
Fenòmens is the catalyst of HYBRID PERFORMING ARTS in Barcelona, and opens a window to display unclassifiable creations, this year divided into 4 areas: body and screen, body and technologies, body and space, body and music. The 2016 edition takes place in five venues around the city of Barcelona: Fundació Tàpies, Hangar, La Caldera, Cinemes Girona and Espai Erre.
Fenòmens dares to exhibit works of radical artists in their genre, from dance to performance, from installation to music, from cinema to participatory event. 4 intense days of national and international creations that focus on the body as a tool to provide the viewer unusual and adverse experiences.
Fenòmens 2016 features 32 artists, a selection that comes from 3 external curators, from Québec (Festival du nouveau cinéma de Montréal), Mexico (Agite y Sirva) and Spain (AADK Spain), and an open call which received 200 proposals. Within these selections, we included Collectif (La)Horde, Cie Laroque / Helene Weinzierl, Kotomi Nishiwaki, Rodrigo Cuevas, Modgeist, Arnaud Courcelle, Balago, Gaëtan Rusquet, Vânia Rovisco, Teresa Navarrete, Miguel Marín, Drama!, Erre that erre, Radicalismo Abstracto, Daniel Gwirtzman, Anders Bigum, Troels Primdahl, Alta Realitat, Isa·bel, Dj Erre, and 13 works of short films and videodance.
Morevover, the French awarded company La(Horde) will teach a free workshop from 14 to 18 November at La Caldera, which ends in a public action. Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer i Arthur Harel propose various choreographic experiments based on the work of the collective, what they call “the post-Internet dances”, on the Jumpstyle dance and the hardstyle movement.
