A creative workshop exploring feminist art through collage, taking inspiration from DIY, cut and paste zine aesthetic and feminist artists. You do not need to be an 'artist' to join this celebratory workshop, just a passion for smashing the patriarchy!
This workshop uses feminist art, activism and current issues to inspire a new way of seeing the images that we are exposed to daily through media. Past participants described feeling relaxed and meditative during the workshop, enjoyed the exchange of ideas with a group of like-minded people and went away with a new conscious view on how women are portrayed in everyday media.
My workshop is a feminist collage workshop exploring feminist art, artists and the history of critique on society, the economy, politics, gender and culture through collage making.
This workshop will take inspiration from DIY, cut & paste zine aesthetic, activism and feminist art. The session would be a guided exploration of body imagery with the aim of self- expression.
Materials will be provided. Participants will be able to create individual poster art by collaging and reworking powerful texts and images from media, activist campaigns and feminist art in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. I welcome all genders and artistic abilities in this inclusive workshop.
