About
Join us to celebrate the publication of the Feminisms double issue of MIRAJ co-edited by Maria Walsh and Catherine Elwes. We will be joined by a cross-generational group of speakers including historians, academics, curators and practitioners, beginning withGriselda Pollock and Laura Mulvey (chaired by Jenny Lund). They will be followed by a panel featuring artists Oriana Fox and Rehana Zaman and the afternoon will close with a screening and in-conversation with the filmmaker Zineb Sedira.
The speakers will address their own practices and thinking in the context of the recent resurgence of interest in second wave feminism and consider how their findings might illuminate our relationship to historical feminism, to female spectatorship and contemporary moving image practices by women.
The symposium will be followed by a drinks reception in the Green Room.
Copies of MIRAJ: Feminisms will be available for sale at a special discounted price.
Speakers: Oriana Fox, Laura Mulvey, Griselda Pollock, Zineb Sedira and Rehana Zaman
Chairs: Catherine Elwes, Jenny Lund and Maria Walsh
The event is free and open to all. Booking essential.
This event is presented in association with CCW Graduate School, University of the Arts London.
MIRAJ is published by Intellect Books.
