“When I'm asked about the language of my work, I see it as both a response to my environment, and the expression of the environment's effect on me” - Julie Brook

About

As the paradigm of what a sculpture can be made of shifts over the years, Pangolin London has endeavoured to capture the expansive way in which sculptors respond to the world around them. Feathers, Bones and Stones explores not only nature as inspiration but nature as a source of material.

From the iridescent cockerel and crow feathers collected by George Taylor on her farm in Gloucestershire to the whalebone washed up on the shores of the Isle of Harris carved by Steve Dilworth, these sculptors often have a deep connection with the natural world. Their fascinating use of natural materials imbues their work with a primal energy captured in contemporary yet timeless forms.

Feathers, Bones & Stones features sculpture and works on paper from sculptors Julie Brook, Ann Christopher, Steve Dilworth, Abigail Fallis, Susie MacMurray, Charlotte Mayer, Eilis O'Connell, Peter Randall-Page, and George Taylor.
