For its first ever group show - the smallest gallery in London proudly presents the work of six UK based artists; Jessie Brennan, Daren Callow, Frog Morris, Susan Plover, Nicole Polonsky, Jacqueline Utley, and Swiss artist Veronika Spierenburg.
About
Defying the limits of the dimensions of the gallery, FEAST promises to be an intriguing and rich mix of print, collage, sound, painted and sculptured work.
Works include ~
Ambivalent Bauble by Nicole Polonsky who has constructed an object resembling a traditional festive decoration. Made from Christmas cards received by the artist from friends and acquaintances, and then shredded, this work marks relationships past and present. It is intended to convey succinctly the conflicting emotions felt by the artist at this time of year.
And Frog Morris has made a series of sculptures 'They eat black puddings at the horn of the alter' Xmas 1445 inspired by 'The Feast of Fools', a forgotten medieval Christmas celebration, where people dressed in masks and costumes. Such pagan influenced celebrations were later outlawed by the church, but the midwinter celebrations are still a time for much feasting and foolishness.
