About
In October, Jair Bolsonaro was elected to be the next president of Brazil. News of his toxic cocktail of misogynist, trans-phobic, homophobic & fascist views reached our Berlin nest. We snuggled into each other, smelling of Sterni and last night cigarette smoke and while hand poking tattoos onto our feathers we started planning an evening....We are thrilled to invite you to Liebig 12 for a Brazilian themed evening of stand up comedy, drag, poetry, political talks, music, delicious food and Caipirinhas.
The event will be dedicated to Casa da Lagartixa Preta "Malagueña Salerosa", a queer house project in Santo André (state of São Paulo) that has been running for 14 years. The house offers an anti patriarchal living community to inhabitants and visitors and they run projects including a garden, a public kitchen offering home grown cheap & healthy meals, a library, study circles, cinema nights and direct political activist groups. We will hear individual stories directly from the collective, finding out how they are feeling after Bolsonaro's election and how they plan to respond.
All money will go to helping them continue their great work.
