Photographer, Fay Godwin became one of Britain’s most important landscape photographers.
About
She is best known in Wales for her work with author Shirley Toulson on the book, The Drovers’ Roads of Wales. In the Pulpit Room: a selection of her original photographs, first exhibited to launch the book in 1977, celebrate 40 years since its publication. In the Ruralist Room: new photographic prints made from her original negatives, loaned by The British Library and chosen by people who knew and worked with her, concentrate on her later documentary landscape work.
Fay Godwin’s influence on the practices of other landscape photographers is explored in a parallel exhibition at Pen’rallt Gallery Bookshop.
