Four Corners is delighted to announce Round 2 of FATHOM, its residency programme for London-based artists working in film and photography.

About

Four Corners is delighted to announce Round 2 of FATHOM, its residency programme for London-based artists working in film and photography.

In 2015, five artists will be supported to develop and make new work, using dedicated space and facilities at Four Corners, through Production Residencies and Research & Development Residencies. The programme includes work-in-progress events and talks, an annual exhibition and associated Symposium with partner The Cass at London Metropolitan University.

FATHOM meets an identified gap in provision for film and photographic artists, who have few opportunities for practice-based research, experimentation and development. It is funded through the Arts Council’s Grants for the Arts programme, with additional support from the European Regional Development Fund.

Residency finalists are chosen by an external Selection Panel. In 2014, panelists were Laura Noble Director of LA Noble Gallery and Christiane Monarchi, Editor of Photomonitor. ‘FATHOM uniquely mirrors the best parts of a Silicon Valley start-up incubator, whose funding is aligned with the support needed for ideas to grow into innovations.... My only wish for the FATHOM Residency is that it may continue forever, so that many more artists can benefit from the resources available here.’ (Christiane Pratsch Monarchi, Editor, Photomonitor)

‘The artists present a great variety of works and practices using film and photography to communicate a diversity of ideas with inspired results.’ (Laura Noble, Director, LA Noble Gallery)
