AboutJoin artist Tamarin Norwood in the studio for a free drop-in workshop inspired by Janice Kerbel's exhibition.
Have you ever really noticed those pens and pencils of yours? They climb out of your pencil case day after day to write and draw whatever you ask. But have they any idea what they are scribbling? They don't understand a jot. After all, words and pictures are for people, not pens.
This Saturday from our pencil cases we hear the cry: Enough! Down with handwriting! No more drawing! We will speak for ourselves! That's right: THE PENS ARE ON STRIKE.
Drawing on practices of graphic music notation, action painting and concrete poetry, children are invited to rehearse, film and narrate their own 'play for felt tip toes' inspired by the plight of the spotlight in Janice Kerbel's play for stage lights.
All welcome, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
