Face With Tears Of Joy brings together the work of four artists - Betsy Kenyon, John Whapham, Steff Jamieson and Luke Harby – all using analogue photography in various ways.
About
For the exhibition Betsy will be showing work from the series ‘Less than a Second’. These ‘darkroom drawings’ challenge distinctions between 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional experiences while capturing normally imperceptible time events.
John's practice spans many diverse interests, for this show he will be displaying enlarged reproductions of lumen prints (made in direct sunlight) depicting organic subject matter.
Steff will present work from her series 'Pink Folds', made using her methodology of folding and exposing light sensitive paper, this results in a series of photographic objects where each one is slightly different and in turn unique.
Luke will exhibit a small series of works which play with the nature of conjuring and sleight of hand, showing both positive and negative prints in parallel.
