Face to Face, a selection of portraits painted predominantly from life. In the age of smartphones and social media, portraiture is everywhere, from the ubiquitous selfie to the prolific duck-face profile picture. But a painted portrait is far more than a fleeting moment in time, more than just a likeness, it’s perhaps a form of communication and commemoration at the same time, a conversation not only between the artist and sitter, but between you the viewer and someone you may never even have met.
