Every year, Sanctuary empowers thousands of adults and children to move from fear and abuse to safety and stability, transforming lives through legal and clinical services, state-of-the-art job training, shelter, and programming for children and youth.

In addition to direct services, Sanctuary educates approximately 25,000 concerned community members annually through outreach events and professional trainings, and advocates for legislation and public policies that promote freedom from gender violence as a basic human right.

For over 30 years, Sanctuary for Families has served New York's diverse communities, continually expanding both their reach and their services. Today, Sanctuary staff work in all five boroughs, speak over 30 languages, and provide life-saving services to survivors regardless of sexual orientation, documentation status, or culture. In 2018, Sanctuary aims to continue this work with the specific goals of expanding their Children & Families programming, passing legislation to protect victims of sex trafficking and cyber sexual abuse, and reaching more communities through outreach and trainings.

Sanctuary is grateful for Arsenal Contemporary’s support and looks forward to continuing this partnership with the art center in the years to come.

Organized by Arsenal Contemporary NY, Eye to eye strives to empower survivors of gender violence through support of Sanctuary for Families. In presenting and linking artists with whom our relationships have been marked by generosity and exchange, our goal is to create a physical embodiment of our dedication to this cause. This remarkable gathering of artists inspire us through their creative output, their diverse relationships to making, history, and memory, and, ultimately, their forefronting of care. Generous contributions by the artists and your support helps progress Sanctuary For Families’ purview of caregiving to survivors; building stronger foundations while breaking cycles of homelessness, poverty, and violence
