The eye 2 i, i 2 eye project was set up as a collaboration between Rugby Writers and Rugby Artists' Group. The project involves writers and visual artists loaning work to each other in order to inspire new pieces of work to be made. Each artist has loaned an art work to a writer and each writer has loaned a piece of writing to an artist. The resulting exhibition will contain all of the original loaned work alongside the new pieces created in response. The exhibition promises to be an intriguing mix of writing and art works in a variety of mediums highlighting the wealth of writing and art that is produced within the borough of Rugby.
Rugby Writers: this group meet twice a month to discuss and review each other's work which includes fiction and non-fiction, poetry, songs and play scripts. Some members have had work published and several have achieved success in writing competitions. The group take opportunities to read their work in public and every year publishes an anthology of their writing.
Rugby Artists' Group: Founded in 2003 as the Rugby Artists' Support Group, Rugby Artists' Group provides networking, support, exhibition and development opportunities for artists based in the Rugby Borough. The group organises and leads Artlab which is a monthly experimental art activity for adults. Members of the group often work co-operatively with other local art groups and participate in events such as the regional Warwickshire Open Studios Week.
