Extension Cable Cuisine will show F.A.F’s latest installation being repurposed as a series of interlinked buffet platforms. Recreating a feast reminiscent of years following the departure of the Roman Empire from Britain, hosted amongst the ruined villas of Londinium.
Join us on the last day of the exhibition for warm stews, bread and communal feasting. Vegetarian, vegan and meat options will all be available.
A series of extension cables hang amongst the skeletal structure providing power to a series of hot plates and slow cookers nestled amongst the mosaic islands. The bubbling away of stews, soups and stacks of home baked bread breathes new tones and textures into the backdrop of the space.
A backdrop that is reminiscent of F.A.F’s own experiences of cooking and hosting ad hoc dinners in studios and various alternative living situations. This eases a warm sense of nostalgia into the installation evoking collective memories neither bound by place or time.
