What may seem to be an incongruous juxtaposition of photographs is in fact the result of Exquisite Consequence. Using chance and sequentialism as the stimulants for creation, a journey of rules, ideas and games has been embarked upon by a collective of seven photographers. With the Victorian parlour game Consequences and the Surrealist method Exquisite Corpse as referents, only the starting point for this exhibition was equivocally determined; the voyage thereafter produced previously inconceivable narratives.
The show comprises 49 images (and corresponding words) selected by, distributed between and then refashioned by members of the collective - all of them recent post-graduates at Central Saint Martins. Through hung prints, installations, video, montage and dissected imagery, unique stories may emerge and/or disappear.
