An exhibition of painted portraits (both animal & human) highlighting the relationship between the subject and the viewer
About
Claire’s work spans across many genres; landscapes, florals, dancers etc. but she has found that her portraits evoke some of the strongest emotions from the viewer.
Claire's painting practice has evolved after spending more than 30 years travelling the world as a fashion and textile designer. Wisdom gathered along the way is now distilling itself and is evident in her work. Claire explains that ‘painting a portrait whether human or animal is mesmeric’. Often when she steps back from the work in progress, she doesn’t recall how and when the marks came together on the canvas to produce this deep emotion that links the viewer with the subject.
As featured artist at Skylark Galleries, Claire will be showing part of her National Treasure human series as well as equine and wild animal studies.
Claire has painted live extensively at many prestigious events including Crufts and Royal Ascot and on national television. You can see her painting live at Skylark Galleries 2 on Friday 15th November from 11-6 and on Saturday 16th November from 11- 4.30
