About
Alice Kemp's paintings explore the beauty, imperfection and ephemerality of the natural world, celebrating the hidden wonders of the domestic garden.
Just like nature and life itself, Kemp's style of painting is a rich world of oppositions, but, as she says, “nothing that lives is rigidly perfect or definable”.
The artist will discuss her inspiration, process, as well as her thoughts about challenging distinctions between high and low art, long-standing gender stereotypes and balancing her art practice with being an educator and a new mother.
