A One Day Experimental Life Drawing Workshop with Artist Tina Willis-Jones ARBSA

About

Working from existing Life Drawings and/or given images, explore a creative and personal response to the figure. We will be working with traditional media in an experimental way to produce exciting, finished work.

Age group and abilities to be taught:

• 18 years and above.

• Suitable for all abilities.

Course aims and skills/knowledge to be taught:

• Explore the inherent qualities of a variety of dry and wet media.

• Effectively exploit the characteristics of each medium.

• Employ a variety of compositional strategies.

• Identify rhythm and energy within the form.

• Discover new ways of mark making.

Course outline for the day:

• Tutor introduction and demonstration of media and techniques.

• Adopting these techniques, students will use a personal, creative response to produce a finished piece. There will be a focus on mark making and maintaining an energy within the work.  Source material: Student’s previous Life Drawings and/or given images.

• Tutor demonstration.

• We will look at effective compositional strategies and using colour to evoke mood in the work. Source material: Student’s previous Life Drawings and/or given images.
