A.I.'s solo presentation of Sarah Choo Jing's work explores the slow burn view of everyday life. The digital photograph composites and video stills suggest a plethora of experienced narratives within contemporary urban society. Her recent works: 'Waiting for the Elevator' (2014) and 'Puddles in the City' series (2014) are informed by the act of looking, the sense of voyeurism through the observation of the roles and relationships between the spectator and performer. Choo's work evokes a certain intimate yet poised stillness.
In line with A.I.'s objective to encourage the East-West dialogue, Choo fulfils this dynamic, for example, by taking a universal theme like social alienation across key capital cities including her home country/city- Singapore as well as London, Paris and New York.
