“Gems of Vietnam” exhibition by Hanoi Art House displays a unique collection of lacquer, oil, silk and Dzó paper paintings by famous Vietnamese artists. The paintings featured illustrate Vietnam’s beautiful landscapes and its people.
Vietnamese lacquer work found in ancient tombs in Vietnam, date as far back as the 3rd and 4th centuries B.C. Lacquer painting is created on wood, covered with several layers of lacquer. Artists apply additional materials such as plant ash, eggshells, gold and silver to beautify their artworks.
Visitors will also have an opportunity to understand more about Vietnamese modern fine art through the special selection of oil, silk and Dzo paper paintings on show.
The exhibition is part of a big event about Vietnamese culture during the weekend - Vietnam Festival.
