“Everyone Is Divine” is a photography exhibition featuring fifty different people made up in the style of the drag icon and muse to John Waters, Divine. Initially the idea was an homage to the fabulous brash, punk and glamorous superstar but over the two year period it also became something else.
About
The diversity of people all with the same trademark Divine drag makes us wonder who is behind the makeup. Many of the sitters are performers ( Marc Almond, Lavinia Co-Op, Mizz Kimberley, Rubyyy Jones ) but there is also a Gardener, a Tram driver and even a ten year old boy.
The photographs were taken by London based makeup artist Darren Evans who has been doing hair and makeup for Film and Fashion since the late 80s. Divine has been a huge influence on many people over the years and her relevance is still strong today.
The show runs from the 1st of July till the 14th of July and is at the The Horse Hospital, Colonnade, Bloomsbury, London WC1N 1JD. Monday to Saturday 12pm till 6pm. Free entry.
