Level: Beginner/refresher
All our Etching courses are designed for beginners or are perfect as a refresher for those with some previous experience of this printing technique.
During the four-week etching course you will learn all stages of the etching process from preparing plates through to etching and printing. Techniques covered include hard ground, soft ground, aquatint, sugar lift, carborundum, chine- colle and printing multi plate etchings. After a thorough introduction to the basics of etching and the equipment used, you will then have the opportunity to discover the vast array of techniques that are possible.
Throughout the course you will be working on your own plates, and all techniques will be clearly demonstrated to the group. Phrosy will be on hand to offer focused support and advice throughout the sessions, giving you the knowledge and confidence to take advantage of the open access facilities on completion of the course.
