‘Essence’ Athena Anastasiou’s second solo show reveals her exciting new style of painting. Expect bold colourful paint strokes, exposed linen and total freedom in her portraits.

About

She strips portraiture back to its bare essence, emphasising the silent and captivating dialogue between the sitter and viewer.

Athena questions what a portrait is by bringing the sitters into the gallery space as live portraits, merging the lines between the canvas and real life.
