Eric Zener's paintings portray moments of personal decision and change. His subjects are divers suspended in mid-flight or men and women treading water. Zener purposefully reveals little about the individuals, their faces often turned away from us or obscured. With the focus shifted away from their identity, we instead are encouraged to consider our relationship to their experience. Surrounded, but not completely engulfed by the vastness of the water, the subjects remain powerful and we imagine each to be on the verge of a revelation.
Eric Zener’s work has been exhibited in the United States, and internationally, for over 25 years. Eric’s work has been featured and reviewed extensively in art magazines and other publications. Apart from gallery representation his work has also been included in museum shows and international residency programs.
