This exciting exhibition is the first opportunity to see four decades of still life paintings by the highly regarded British artist Eric Rimmington.
About
Bohun Gallery has represented Rimmington for thirty years and has specialised in exhibiting his enigmatic still life paintings. This carefully curated show brings together his most recent work with paintings completed over the previous four decades, following a decisive period in the USA during the late 1970s which shaped the artist’s oeuvre. It was after this trip that Rimmington began depicting ‘a painting-within-a-painting’ which continues to be a central focus and much admired aspect of his work today. Rimmington’s long and successful career can be said to have re-defined the art of still life, reviving and strengthening a genre of art that had become stale within British art. His paintings continue to bring wonder and awe amongst viewers. This, his eighth solo show with Bohun Gallery, examines the very major contribution this artist continues to make to the development of still life painting and offers collectors the opportunity to acquire key works by the artist.
