The Centre for Recent Drawing is proud to welcome the show Enjambment for the month of November.
In poetry, enjambment is all about continuity of line, or run-on. As in visual art, too. Sharon Leahy Clark starts a drawing with a thought, mark or line, to create an initially familiar image, only then to work with line quickly and intuitively, into and over the primary one, ending up in a space less recognisable and definitely more absurd.
Rosemarie McGoldrick’s regular black-and-white drawings are preliminaries for sculptures. The sculptures then return to behave in space as 3D drawings, by deploying the same monochrome in a silhouette installation against the white background of the gallery space. Shown together, it's an immersive experience.
