Engaging with the Past is a monthly cultural heritage and public history reading group set up by Dr. Jessica Moody.
Engaging with the Past is a monthly cultural heritage and public history reading group set up by Dr. Jessica Moody. As part of the Being Human festival, the group will host a special guest lecture by Eithne Nightingale (Queen Mary University) at Somerstown Community Centre .
Join us from 5:30pm onwards for a meet and greet and refreshments. Eithne will talk about her research into 'Migration Museums' in port towns from 6pm, and there will be a chance for Q&A following this. The group will then 'migrate' across to The Kings Street Tavern* (Kings Street) and from 7:30pm onwards there will be a reading and discussion group on the theme of 'Migration Museums'.
Please email Jessica to join the mailing list for the group and for readings (Jessica.moody@port.ac.uk).
