A collective exhibition held by Millie MacDougall and Dilan Tartar at the Bhavan in West Kensington, showcasing their first ever exhibition ‘END POINT.” displaying a variety of works consisting of sculptures and paintings. The exhibition will be on from Wednesday 6th (5pm – 8.30pm) till the 7th (10am – 5pm) with the private view held on the 6th.
Dilan and Millie does not aim to show us the end point its self with this exhibition but just to show us we are on our way there and to open our eyes and see what we can do to stop or even slow down the process of getting to the “END POINT.” By painting images depicting pollution, mental health and war to get us thinking about the society we live and what we can do to change it by highlighting the fact that everything is slowly coming to an end.
They have taken their life experiences within this field and tried to portray an emotional response to the society we live in. Creating artwork about destroying the pretty things in life, for example how we are destroying all that is beautiful not just in the environment but within ourselves mentally. Changing the way we think and destroying ourselves to fit the norm whilst dragging everything down with us.
Even though this is Dilan and Millie’s first solo exhibition they have both taken part in The University of East London’s first and second year exhibitions. They have also had pop up displays around their home town Chingford, also displaying work in areas such as Crawley, Hackney and Essex and in large franchise stores such as Hobbycraft.
If visitors are interested in purchasing work, please ask artists directly at the private viewing. Alternatively, contact details are below and also on exhibition leaflets and posters.
