Careful attention will be paid to using bold compositions to enable the best use of tonal values and the feeling of depth. We will also take a good look at perceived colour perception the true colour value.
All of the above will be practised in the beautiful Suffolk landscape alongside artist Tom Marsh who will be their to guide and encourage. During the painting excursions Tom will also paint so that you can see how he might interpret the same landscape.
There will be some studio time to discuss materials, a painting demonstration and an end of day chance to see each others work, share thoughts and positive critique.

N.B - To take part in this course you will need a field easel of some sort. If you do not have one you can purchase a very inexpensive one or if you feel that you will be painting en plein air again, then you can invest in a more expensive one. Tom recommends the easels below.
