Work Space Pressure showcases international contemporary artists that address the burdens of artistic labour and the increasing volatility of the modern working environment.
About
An exhibition curated by Empathy Inc, a group of MA students from the Centre for Curatorial Studies at the University of Essex, who set out to explore phenomena that add to the pressures of contemporary working life.
Time, materiality and tension between private and public activity are used to frame the predominant concerns that influence happier working environments and personal wellbeing. By confronting issues related to office environments Work Space Pressure explores the pleasures, discomforts, boredom and humour in modern working life.
Artists in the show include Leon Ferrari, Bea Fremderman, Clare Conway, Perce Jerrom, Karen Thompson, Phillip Rugo, Luke Nairn, Emma Hart and Femke Herregraven.
