About

Playback explores tacit knowledge, intuited response and behavioral adaptations to environment within the locality of The Showroom. Utilising storytelling as a means of knowledge transfer this project includes a series of research and development workshops through which stories are collected and exchanged to then be developed into a series of script components: settings, scenarios and characters, that will form the basis of an installation in the gallery into which the public will be invited to construct their own playlets and embody the narratives shared. Playback is a collaborative project led by artist Emma Smith.
