Riverside Cafe Gallery is extremely proud to be presenting artist Emma Hobbs, whose work sits between Fine Art and Textile practice.
About
Emma’s work explores the simplicity and elegance of the ceramic forms through films of mono printed and silk screen printed colour, graphite rubbings and both hand and machine stitch.
In her stitched pieces, Emma enjoys abstracting and layering these forms through print, exploring the sometimes complex positive and negative shapes that this creates.
Emma’s work has organically evolved with further embellishment of hand stitch, that builds the surface and texture of the composition. More recently the play of colour on colour and exploration of texture has been a focus of the simplistic and abstract hand dyed stitched pieces that she has created.
