Seventeen contemporary artists are showing their latest works in Emergence, an exhibition at Espacio Gallery, 159 Bethnal Green Road, London, E2 7DG. Organised by Ahmed Farooqui Emergence runs from 31st January until 5th February.
The exhibition heralds the change of seasons from the depths of winter to the promise of spring. Each artist brings their own unique perspective on the theme of emergence inspired by factors ranging from the birth of the cosmos to intricate family relationships to vibrant memory based landscapes. Their individual responses to such a diverse range of sources under the theme of emergence result in a unique and thoughtful body of work. Using a variety of media diverse as printmaking and wax painting the artists open up an energetic dialogue with the viewer.
From tiny overlooked but vital details of daily life to philosophical paradigms, from the pure sciences through to cultural icons Emergence draws on rich and varied aspects of the artists' collective experience.
This is a colourful and imaginative exhibition that encourages the viewer to discover and explore fascinating aspects of the theme of Emergence. As with other Espacio exhibitions, the artists are actively involved with the gallery and you can expect to find several invigilating at Emergence each day should you wish to find out more about the artwork.
