About

During the evening of 27th September and in partnership with the Emerge Festival, we are excited to host a Contemporary Music and Performance Art event, featuring many artists including the alternative underground music duo JIZ on ( Hua Hua records) and electronica pop group Among bright lights.

We also have DJ sets from Mekon, Iz from JIZ, Fat Harry, and Dispraxsick. As well as a special Performance Art Piece from Harry Smithson and his extraordinary sound suit. This all takes place within the gallery space of The Bomb Factory Art Foundation that  simultaneously will be showing  an  exhibition of Sculpture and Installation "Shell Shelter and Raven Ravine" presenting work by Anna Reading , 2018-19 winner of The Mark Tanner Sculpture Award, and Pallas Citroen, whose work was recently chosen for The Creekside Open exhibition at APT Deptford.

The Emerge Festival is set to take after-hours London by storm on the weekend of 27-28 September with a multitude of music and eclectic events in many of the capital’s most loved museums, galleries and icons - The Natural History Museum, Tower Bridge, Wellington Arch and The Bomb Factory to name a few -. With a full weekend pass you’ll get access to: The pop-up Vagina Museum, a house party in psychedelic rock royalty - Jimi Hendrix’s - first London flat. Body Positive Life Drawing. A talk from Bryony Gordon. A night of live music and DJs (Ishmael Ensemble and Brackles) and of course the live music and performance event at The Bomb Factory as well as many other eclectic events all over London.

The two featured bands are musically diametrically opposed, JIZ is a duo formed by Isabelle Saphiron and John Gosling of Psychic TV, Zos Kia, Mekon and AgentProvocateur. Their work is a cry of ancient dissatisfaction at the liberty no being ever had the courage to indulge in. Through whatever medium comes in hand they try to seduce the mundane and reconstruct it into something fascinating.

Whereas Among | bright | lights. are an electronica duo, comprised of Robert Kalintas and Jaden Stone, both of whom are involved with creative courses with Collage Arts, funded by The Big Issue. Their distinctive sound is rooted in bedroom electronics blended with elements of hip-hop, ambient, post-rock and pop. Influenced by misunderstood and misrepresented issues affecting their generation. among | bright | lights engage with observations of drug abuse and addiction, mental illness and contemporary social issues affecting Britain today. They are the epitome of why The Big Issue invests in a project like Collage Arts; empowering the next generation to be changemakers, equipping them with tools they wouldn’t normally get. Through courses at Collage Arts, Robert and Jaden have been able to develop their creative skills in animation, videography, music performance, and other visual arts.”
