'Embroidery: Beyond the Hoop' is resident artist, Sarah Michelle's first solo show. Represented by Gallery Different, Sarah Michelle's work is predominantly textiles based, incorporating embroidery hoops, and more vibrant materials to capture simple beauty.
About
Sarah Michelle's portfolio is dominated with figurative painting and stitched compositions. The works are mainly monochrome, with the occasional hint of colour. This exhibition draws upon her unique style and ability to capture the individuality of her subjects.
Newly created for this exhibition, Sarah Michelle has a number of series that reflect society, including a 'Body Positive Series'.
The works demonstrate the highly-skilled ability of the artist to stitch the portraits of her sitters.
