Surface Gallery is pleased to announce the exhibition for our seventh East Midlands Graduate Project, EM15: Here’s One We Made Earlier.
About
The East Midlands Graduate Project supports Fine Art graduates from across the region as they make the transition from university to professional art world. Here’s One We Made Earlier is the culmination of a month-long residency. Eight artists have been commissioned to produce new work for a group show, and will exhibit an eclectic mix of painting, installation, photography, performance, and sculpture.
Eight very different artists have been brought together under the single roof of our Project Space for an intense period of exploration and creation. The results are as varied as their creators, ranging from Craig David Parr’s vision of a Trumpton dystopia to Gill Kaur’s interrogation of the domestic role of Indian women in her Chapatti Wife. The artists have also designed an unusual catalogue, which will be available throughout the exhibition.
EM15: Here’s One We Made Earlier will open on Friday 4th September at 18:00 in the Main Gallery. As always, there will be a donations bar, with ales from local brewery, Springhead.
Artist Talks: Saturday 19th September, 12:00
Workshops: Throughout August the artist will be running a series of free workshops. For details and to book your place follow this link: workshops
