Artist Elizabeth de Monchaux takes inspiration from the edges and gaps in the world, the elusive spaces where something is or is not about to happen, the horizon - the space between surface and sky, the location of a ship that is visible but far away. Exploring this concept, de Monchaux employs combinations of geometric forms, creating abstract sculptures for exhibition and commission, reacting to diverse locations and how they present different problems to solve. As an extension to her sculptural artworks she also manipulates digital photography to create abstract images.
